The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation is giving grants to several schools and non-profits to open Loads of Love laundry centers in their communities. The laundry centers will provide children experiencing homelessness or unstable living situations with access to clean clothes at no cost to them or their families.
In celebration of the new grant awardees, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held this month at George W. Carver Elementary School in Richmond, VA. The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, current Redskins players, and Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital volunteers worked together to renovate the new space by painting and installing a new washer and dryer. They created a clean and tidy environment for Carver Elementary to run their Loads of Love program. The new center is equipped with many features including shelving areas, folding tables, and supplies.
“Loads of Love is a special program that we at Bon Secours are happy to support through our work with the Redskins Charitable Foundation,” says Rhodes Ritenour, Vice President, External and Regulatory Affairs for Bon Secours Health System. “We celebrate the incredible schools and organizations that will be receiving these generous grants.”
The new locations join five existing sites in the Richmond area and together will impact nearly 2,500 children annually.
Community development and care for the underserved is a cornerstone of our ministry, and Bon Secours values partnering with organizations like the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation to change lives in our community.
